About the movie: Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), nicknamed the "would-be World Champion" of Formula 1 in the 1990s, was a promising racer whose career was destroyed by a near-fatal crash. Thirty years later, while Sonny makes a living as a racer-for-hire, he is approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who is now the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team. Ruben convinces Sonny to return to Formula 1, help his team to victory, and thereby save it. Sonny's new protégé is the hot-headed rookie Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), who wants to forge his own path. However, amidst the roar of the engines, Sonny's past catches up with him, and he discovers that his teammate is his fiercest competitor and that he cannot navigate the road to redemption alone.
